February's Reveal
Welcome Brethren!
This year is proving to be very busy indeed. We ushered in
the New Year with our traditional New Year’s Morning Reception which was very
well attended. We have had several visitations as well as an attempt at the
Traveling Gavel our brothers from Damascus were more fortuitous in that
endeavor. We have several brothers trying for the Traveling Apron award, we
have had two EA degrees which were well attended – I must give a hearty
brotherly thank you to our brothers from Damascus who visited during our
degrees and demonstrated more than mere words can depict what Masonic
friendship and brotherly love is to our newly initiated Masons. We had the
district 12 “united” School of Instruction, our Junior Warden Art Karos was a
guest speaker at Geneva lodge speaking on bee husbandry and we held our first
stated meeting for the new year. Let me reinforce that all of that was just in
January. As our core officers grow in their duties it is also incumbent upon
our existing members to come down to the lodge and make sure we are meeting
your expectations. I request the presence of all our standing members who can
make it to come down and assist us. We sure could use your insight! The Ladies
of Palmer are back at it providing their own interests I believe this month
they will be discussing antiquing furniture. Our Junior Warden has come up with
a succulent menu prior to our meetings and the word is getting out so please
contact Art and let him know if you will be attending so that we have enough
preparations.
February is turning out to be just as busy also. We will
possibly be doing a Fellowcraft or two and possibly another EA. Remember we
have informal get togethers to practice ritual and posting applications every
Monday at 7 aside from our regular stated meetings. As you may recollect from
your Entered Apprentice Charge:
“Your regular appearance at our
meetings is earnestly solicited. At your leisure hours, that you may improve in
Masonic knowledge, you are to converse with well informed brethren who will
always be as ready to give as you will be ready to receive instruction.
Finally, keep sacred and
inviolable the mysteries of the Fraternity, as these are to distinguish you
from the rest of the community and mark your consequence among Masons.”
Our hope is to travel to more lodges throughout the month of
February. Keep in touch with myself, Bros. Art and Rodney to know of our agenda
it would be great for Palmer to show up in a large contingent and support our
brothers at the other lodges.
In Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty
Khristian E. Kay, WM
